The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation provides millions of dollars for novel Alzheimer's disease research, conducted primarily at the Fisher Center lab at The Rockefeller University in New York City. The lab is currently under the direction of Dr. Nathaniel Heintz but was previously run by late Nobel laureate Dr. Paul Greengard until his death in 2019. Funds raised also support research at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, as well as Imagine Institute/Institute for Brain and Spine, in Paris, France.
Krames is proud to partner with the Fisher Center Foundation in producing Preserving Your Memory®. This 32-page award-winning magazine features the latest in Alzheimer’s research, news, caregiving strategies, recipes and tips for staying healthy. The articles in Preserving Your Memory® are designed for Alzheimer’s patients, their families and caregivers and provide helpful information on what to expect when you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
The magazine also serves as a platform to educate the public about the need, both financially and legally, to pre plan and set certain protocols in place before the disease progresses. Articles on subjects such as health proxies, living wills, powers of attorney and long-term health care insurance are included in each issue.
The November 2022 edition marks the 15th anniversary of this publication. Preserving Your Memory® magazine is published three times a year with a circulation of 50,000 copies per issue. Issues are distributed free to geriatric doctor’s offices, nursing homes and senior living facilities, as well as through paid subscriptions, with a total reach of more than 1.2 million Americans.
The Krames editorial and design teams work closely with the Fisher Center Foundation to create custom features on celebrities and prominent researchers and evidence-based health articles, as well as providing research updates directly from the Fisher Center lab at The Rockefeller University. Funded by the Fisher Center Foundation, the lab is one of the largest and most modern scientific facilities in the world dedicated to solving the puzzle of Alzheimer's.
In 2022, Preserving Your Memory® was made available as a DigiReach publication to increase engagement with readers. The enhanced digital version of the magazine features easier browsing and navigation, and includes the ability to jump to an article from the table of contents or cover teasers, as well as clickable URLs that take readers directly to a referenced website. The DigiReach version offers readers the option to download a PDF of the magazine, and to easily print or share individual articles.
“With tools like DigiReach, our informative website, our comprehensive social media presence—and, most important, the high quality of Preserving Your Memory’s editorial content—the sky is the limit,” says Lucretia Holden, Executive Director of the Fisher Center Foundation.
